Day 9: Youngstown, Ohio to
Scranton/Eynon, Pa.
We slept in because we actually had a check out time later than usual. We then drove 5 hours to meet up with Carole's friends for dinner, but made a quick pit-stop to see Aunt Lois and Uncle Roy. When we got to dinner we had AMAZING pizza and ate until we were stuffed. Carole was happy to see all of her sorority sisters. Good time catching up! We reached our cousin's Patrica, Jerry and Justin's. They kicked their son, Ryan, out of his house next door so that we have our "own place" during our stay. (Thanks Ryan!!)
Day 10: We drove up to see the Blue Goose in Montdale. So much has changed over the years, but... the Montdale Farm Dairy is still there!! The ice cream was GREAT (white house cherry and Peanut Butter Ripple -- mmmmm)!! We then drove up to the cemetary and put flowers on everyone's graves.
Next, we headed to the Jefferson Township Carnival with Patricia and Jerry. Carole's friends, Pat and Don Nicastro, met us there. We ate the BEST halupki's, potato pancakes, clams, sausage and peppers, pierogies and funnel cakes! Jerry drove us to the Archibald Pothole State Park to see the "World's largest Pothole" and then Natalie ran around the replica of the Gubbio fountain. They say if you run around 3 times you get to be declared "officially crazy", So Natalie is now for sure crazy! So far, we are loving our time here visiting with family and friends!
