Day 5: We stayed at what we thought might be a "cute" motel last night.. WRONG! They were rude and flat out dumb. We hit the road and drove until we got to Bedrock City. It was a roadside attraction that was based on the Flintstone's. Super cute! Carole had a "Brontosaurus Burger" and Natalie had a REAL buffalo burger! -- Buffalo tastes like unseasoned hamburger.Next, we went to the Crazy Horse Monument. They started carving it when Carole was 1 yr. old. (They have not mad a lot of progress it seems). We drove about 10 more minutes to Mount Rushmore. Along the way we saw a really old Mountain Goat! Mount Rushmore was a sight to be seen. It's amazing that someone made that using dynamite. Next, we drove throught thunderstorms while listening to our book on cd. We kept seeing signs for "Wall Drug". So we HAD to stop and see what all this advertising was about. Wall Drug is an old pharmacy that they made the whole town center around. It is now a fun and entertaining place! Coffee was 5 cents and they had all sorts of fun things: Jackalope Statues, gold mining, homemade pie, black hills gold and everything western. We drove until we arrived in Murdo, South Dakota.
