We drove from Mississippi to Louisana in just about 4 hours. We drove on a 20 + mile bridge over a lake/swamp and arrived in New Orleans. We drove the streets and then found a hotel right in the French Quarter just a block from Jackson Square. We cooled off in the room for a bit.. it was HOT!! (The humidity is what is getting to us.) We then headed to Cafe du Monde for benigts and Coffee& Chicory. Yummmm! We walked up to see the Mississppi River and then walked the streets of the French Quarter. Next, was Pat O'Briens for some Mint Juleps and Hurricanes. We sat in the Piano Bar and listened to the Show. We next hit Bourbon St.. what an interesting sight! We had dinner at a Cajun Restaurant consisting of Alligator Bites, Red Beans / Rice, Sausage Gumbo and Jambalaya. Tomorrow we are planning on doing a Cemetary tour (they say it is more safe to do it in a tour than by yourself). We will see how long we can stand the heat today!Wednesday, June 24, 2009
