We drove up to Liberty Park and caught the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Along the way we saw Ellis Island and the view was amazing. Lady Liberty was spectacular. Natalie got one of the tickets to go inside to the observation deck (only 3000 a day are let in). After spending a few hours there, we headed up through the Lincoln Tunnel (twice actually...long story) and walked around Manhattan. We saw where ground zero is and it's hard to believe that it has been 9 years since that day. Just seeing how much area was affected and the area that it occurred brought some perspective to how devastating it really was to the area. After spending the time sight seeing, we headed back to our hotel in New Jersey. We are now ready to start our journey towards the south!! (pictures will be coming!)
